What is a proforma invoice?
A proforma invoice (PI) confirms price, quantity, Incoterms and payment before shipment. Buyers often use it to apply for T/T remittance. It is not the customs/accounting commercial invoice (CI). Prefix is usually PI, not QT or CI. TradeDocs generates PI from the same deal as the quotation.
Fields banks and buyers expect
Beneficiary, bank name, account, SWIFT, bank address, currency, deposit/balance wording (e.g. T/T 30% deposit, 70% before shipment), delivery time and ports. Put these in the company profile once; PI and CI reuse them. Related: /pi-vs-ci.
